Float Fishing for Steelhead

There are tons and tons of techniques out there the catch steelhead. I have found that float fishing for steelhead to be the most fun, and rewarding techniques out there. Every year I catch hundreds of steelhead using float fishing techniques, whether a jig under my float or a simple egg pattern. Steelhead can't seem to resist the the natural presentation of your bait. Time and time again float fishing has rewarded me with multiple fish days. I personally use 10'6 foot spinning rods with my clients, when float fishing. Having the advantage of using the long rods maximizes your drift length within the run you are fishing. Upon having a steelhead take your bait that  you have presented under your float, longer rods maximizes your hook up. I personally us west coast floats when I'm on the water. I have found these floats to be the best floats on the market, do to durability, and the way they present in the water. Come out and give it a try with me, or try it yourself on your own fishing adventures.
Keep your lines tight!
